Physical Activity

Physical fitness is our body’s ability to function efficiently and effectively under all conditions, to be healthy, to resist diseases and to meet emergency situations.

Living a sedentary lifestyle predisposes us to certain diseases that can be avoided if we engage in workout programs in the gym, outdoors or from the comfort of our homes. We’ll explore physical activity, fitness and rest and how they all contribute to our emotional health, mental health and our physical health. We’ll also consider the relationship between diet and physical health.

Biblical Health Principles

God’s health plan for us is preventative and it is His desire that we live life to the fullest as we fulfill His purpose for our lives. We’ll be exploring biblical principles for physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual well-being.

Temperance

Temperance is the avoidance of that which is harmful and the moderate/judicious use of unharmful materials. It is our responsibility to develop the right habits to protect our body, especially the frontal lobe –  the seat of reason and judgment.
